A little sketchbook for your group
Send a quick hello, draw a colourful doodle and play together while you travel. Pixel Chat has a bright paper-and-pencil feel, compact chat bubbles and layouts for both iPhone and iPad.
One person hosts a nearby room and accepts requests to join. No room codes or accounts. Rooms have no fixed participant cap; practical capacity depends on devices, connection quality and activity.
Four pocket games
- Noughts & crosses: two players, three in a row.
- Dots & Boxes: two to four players join the dots and claim squares.
- Word Chain: two to four players link words by their last letter. Agree together what counts as a word.
- Story Relay: two to four players build a silly story one line at a time.
The first players in the room take the active seats; everyone else can watch. Late arrivals watch the current round. You can also practise with two-player pass-and-play on one device.
Playing nearby
Nearby play uses Bluetooth first, with local Wi-Fi connections available too. No internet service is needed for a room. Everyone needs Pixel Chat open, nearby connections enabled and permission to use them. Keep close to the host; range and group performance vary.
On a flight, follow the crew's instructions about Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Locking the device or putting the app in the background ends its session. If the host leaves, the room closes.
Privacy and support
No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. Messages, drawings and games are exchanged directly between participating devices. Room content stays in memory for the session; it is not uploaded to a Bilella Works server.
Pixel Chat has been submitted to Apple for review. It will be free to download once approved and released.
