Murmory support
Help with the current Murmory build for Mac, iPhone and iPad. The Mac app is available on the App Store; iPhone and iPad are coming soon.
Using the app
Murmory FAQs
Recordings and original text stay available when processing needs another attempt.
How do I dictate and paste?
Choose Dictations and press Record, then press Stop recording when finished. On Mac, your chosen recording shortcut also starts and stops dictation. Wait for Ready to paste, then paste into the app you want. Murmory copies only after successful cleanup and checks that you have not copied something else meanwhile. A changed clipboard, incomplete audio or processing error leaves the text for you to review and copy explicitly.
On iPhone, return to Murmory if cleanup finishes while the app is inactive. The Record with Murmory shortcut can be assigned to an Action button; this build opens the app and may require unlocking.
Do meetings start automatically?
No. Choose Meetings and start recording yourself. Mac meeting recordings attempt to capture your microphone and application or system audio, subject to macOS permissions. System audio can include other apps. iPhone and iPad record the microphone only; Murmory does not capture another app's call audio on those devices. Make sure participants know you are recording.
Why are Original and Cleaned sometimes the same?
Speech recognition already adds some punctuation. Cleanup may leave clear wording unchanged. Murmory labels that result rather than inventing edits. If cleanup cannot finish, the original stays saved and the entry explains the problem.
Transcription or cleanup is unavailable
Check microphone and speech permissions. Speech models may need an initial internet download and must support your current language. For Apple Intelligence, use a supported device with Apple Intelligence enabled and its models ready. Optional downloaded models must pass the device check in Settings → Speech & AI. Open the recording to see the issue and retry when available. Review generated text before relying on it.
How do I sync my library?
Use the same Apple Account on your devices and enable iCloud library in Murmory Settings. Keep the apps open and connected while the first sync finishes. Text can arrive before a long recording's audio; open that entry and choose Download to fetch its retained audio. Sync now and Sync details help check a failed attempt. Switching iCloud library off stops future sync; it does not delete existing iCloud copies.
What does an incomplete-audio warning mean?
Open the recording's issue details to see which source was affected. Audio saved before an interruption remains available. Retrying transcription can recover text from that saved audio but cannot restore audio that was never captured. A historical warning stays with its recording, including when it syncs to another device.
Does Delete permanently erase a recording?
Delete first moves an entry to Recently Deleted. You can restore it there, or confirm permanent deletion. Permanent deletion removes the text and audio that no other retained entry uses; iCloud and other devices follow when sync succeeds. Copies you exported remain separate. See the privacy policy before using this build for sensitive recordings.
How do I download or delete a local model?
Open Settings → Speech & AI → Model downloads. The page shows whether the model is downloaded and ready. After downloading, run Check this device. Delete model removes its files from this device and returns affected tasks to Automatic, keeping your library. Apple-hosted model downloads require installation through TestFlight or the App Store; direct Xcode installations need a configured development asset server.
How do I report a problem?
Email bilellaworks@gmail.com with your device model, system version, Murmory version, Dictations or Meetings mode and what happened. You can copy an entry's diagnostic details if useful. Please review anything you send and leave out private recordings, transcripts and other people's information. If you are testing through TestFlight, you can also use its feedback control.
